Conventions within a trailer.

The film itself and the trailer has completely different conventions. A trailer will never tell you what the film is about, but only parts of it, which will leave you wanting to know more.

A few conventions of trailers could be:
- The title of the film will always show at the end
- The story line of the film will never be shown in order
- There are ellipses within a trailer
- The non-digetic sound (music) should be in-sync with the clip being played
- Voice overs
- Action is interspersed
- Should build climax
- Showcase the stars of the film (usually before the title is shown)
